Sweet Little Retro Dress

There were a few fabrics floating around my stash just waiting to be used. The little red and yellow dot from Amy Butler's Belle collection and a few scraps of some of her Midwest Modern. I threw in a little Heather Bailey and some lime green dot and voila: a sweet little retro dress for Sophia. Just in time for spring. So cute! Right?
Oh my gosh! The cuteness kills me every time!
Wish I had more of that red for a ruffle at the hem...but alas, I was limited by the scraps.

So pleased with herself, she was clapping.
Is that Daddy? Peaking around the corner?

Super Cute!

Can't wait for warmer weather so Sophia can sport her new retro dress!

  1. Gah! SO cute! What a happy sweetie. Hey - just a thought - you could always add some of that red zig-zag trim around the bottom at any time to tie the red in. Wish I could remember the name, but hopefully you know what I mean. Easy, cheap, and fits the retro theme.
Aha! Rick-rack! Ric-rac? Hmmm. That stuff.

  2. Anna, I love the idea of the ric rac...what I really wanted to do (if I had enough of the red fabric, but alas I did not) was put a red ruffle around the bottom kind of like the ruffle on the pocket. That's the thing about sewing with scraps, you have just enough to make "cute" but not enough to make "super cute". LOL

  4. I did a few for my girl when she was this age. I could just leave her in dresses all the time, alas, I don't have near the talent you do. My dresses didn't have this appeal. Wish I could sew like that!

PS) I signed in using my old account but found you today through the eden linky. I'm Anna at http://witbehind.com/, It's nice to be here!
