From the Studio: Art Sale Recap

We had a fantastic day on Saturday! It was such a festive time, outside the local Lions Club was selling Christmas Trees and every now and then the gray sky would spit out little flakes of snow. It certianly felt like Christmas! 

Quite a few of our dresses and accessories found loving homes and we were able to connect with some very talented artisans. Here's a peak at what we saw:

The set up: only 9 other artisans. Small, but the quality was outstanding.

Beautiful crochet pieces by 04107 Designs. (She had these amazing, antiqued frames all in white, that she used to display her pieces. They were AMAZING. So whimsical. I wanted them:-)

Robin Roaf of Mast Cove Pottery had some lovely things on display. Not only is she and incredibly talented potter but she's also the amazing lady who organized this event, and for her it was a family affair. Her daughter Rose is the photographer, her son is from the Green Foundry and does the bronze work and her mother was also there selling her lovely artwork--talented people these folks!

Another talented artist Burce Iverson was also there displaying his Chinese brush paintings, he understandably did not want pictures taken of his work, but it was beautiful. 

And my absolute favorite thing at the show were these AMAZING bags made from reclaimed sailboat sails. How COOL are they? Every few minutes for the duration of the show (9am to 3pm) I would glance over and covet these bags--especially the gray one with red straps that had a number seven on it. The lady behind Hoist Away Bags, Laura, uses as much of the sail as she possibly can and tries to incorporate elements like logos, grommets and the pattern of the sail into the bags. I really fell in love (you can tell, I took the most pictures of these bags). Unfortunately, the one I really liked was a little out of my price range. But they are still on my radar. 

And then of course there was a few new things we had on display. 

Peasant dress in super cute fabrics, I wanted to snatch this one up for my Sophia.

So a big thanks to Robin Roaf who made this whole event possible and to all the talented artisans! Can't wait for next year.

Technical Difficulties and What's in the Works

So, we haven't fallen off the face of the earth. However, we have been experiencing technical difficulties: my computer is in the shop getting a new hard drive. Thankfully, everything was backed up. But all the photos and content for posts that I had planned for this week are on that computer:-( Once I get it back this evening here are a few things you'll have to look forward to:

Craft Fair Recap

Sunday's craft fair was a success! And a whole lot of fun too, there were lots of talented people with some very beautiful things. We debut two new dresses ("Dakota" and "Chelsey") a few new skirts and some terry burp cloths in some great new fabrics (I'll save those for another post:-).  

Our booth was set up in a middle school gym, so you can imagine the lighting was fabulous for pictures;-)

Here are the new dresses: "Dakota" on the left and "Chelsey" on the right--don't you just love the multi-checks and the blue circles! Both these dresses went to home with cute little girls.

New skirts in fun wintery colors--and a cute little appliqued onesie to match! Plus that pink jumper there on the side is FLANNEL! Super soft flannel;-)

There was a lady across from us, from Country Snowmen and Friends selling adorable snowmen. I bought this little guy who I'll give away this Christmas.

And before the craft fair even started another crafter, Shawna from Olivia's Journee came up and requested bib clips--something I haven't made before, but I jumped at the chance to do a custom order and so we made a trade: custom bib clip for this ring. 

I love it! Unfortunately the lighting doesn't do the colors of this ring justice, but I wanted to get the pictures up. Really the background is a light blue which makes the pink and reds really pop. And I actually wear it on my right hand, but do you know how hard it is to hold a camera in your left hand and take a picture of your right hand when you are right handed? Um. It's hard. 

So that was our Greenland Women's Craft Fair experience. Hopefully we'll be back next year!

Craft Fair Display

 So the craft fair on Saturday was a bit of a bust (we only sold two items:[ ) but we did get to interact with some really great people and were told by two passers-by that they had seen our stuff before! Very cool. We Had a lot of fun with the display, here are a few looks:

I got this high chair at a yard sale earlier this fall for $8.00! Perfect for showing off our things!

Another look at our display (the baseball fabric in the back is NOT ours, just the lady next to us who was selling flannel pajama pants).

 

The vendor next to us let us borrow this little spindle rack, we ended up liking it so much we bought it off her for $2.00!

Holiday Craft Fair Schedule

Both my Mom and I will be busy bees these next few weeks as we prepare for all the holiday craft fairs we will be attending. If you live in New Hampshire and Southern Maine and want to shop local this Christmas then get out your calendar and mark down these dates:


Saturday, November 6th: 9am-3pm, Coe-Brown Northwood Academy Fall Craft Fair (held at Coe-Brown Northwood Academy on Rt. 4 in Northwood, NH). This is a juried craft fair, so expect some top-notch items!


Sunday, November 21st: 10am-3pm, Greenland Women's Club Craft Fair and Pie Sale (held at Greenland Central School, 70 Post Rd. Greenland, NH) This too, is a juried craft fair. 


Saturday, December 4th: 9am-3pm, From the Studio: Artists Market and Sale (held at the Kittery, ME Lions Club, 117 State Rd. (Rt. 1) Kittery, ME). This is also a juried craft fair.


And you can always find our clothing and accessories at Lucy's Art Emporium in Dover, NH and online at our Etsy Shop. But we'd love to meet you! So come on out this holiday season and explore your local craft fair scene!
